So look what I got to play with for the last two days....we just finished our bumpers for the Kodiak/Topkick and I got to play with one for the last two days....I have to say it was a sweet truck and I want one now.... It offroads like a champ (rough ride though)...Here are some photos....

They do look awsome. How come the bumper doesn't go completely agaist the top grill and lights? Why the gap..?
The hood folds forward so it will hit the bumper if I move it up higher.....design flaw of the Kodiak/Topkick....there is 1/2" between the hood and bumper when folded forward

Yeah, a lot of people asked that....I guess not that many people have seen them in person to know about the hood..... oh well.....lol
I still think that some type of valance made from a flexible rubber-like material could be developed to cover the hole and improve looks & aerodynamics, and still allow for the hood to tilt forward.
Looks like GM has taken the easy way out on this one. Several years ago, in one of my previous engineering lives, I was responsible for development and durability testing on a lot vehicles and their components, including bumper systems. So I know that they have the technology for covering that hole. They just don't want to spend the money.
